How Modern Gaming reflects Economic Hierarchy

The Internet with all its nuances is still considered to be one of the last bastions of equality. While the so called real world is replete with intricate stratifications designed for the rich and by the rich;the internet is fairly egalitarian... or so we thought.      The freemium model of games these days offer a simplified analogy for the transcendence of the economic principles of the real world into this subculture. Why invest hours of gaming into honing your skills when it can do easily be thwarted by purchasing an upgrade costing not more than two large pizzas.      Your purchases can jack up your capabilities to mindnumbing heights, well beyond the punching area of the average gamer. Your opponent could be the Genghis Khan of gaming but when you call in the artillery, it's literally game over for the little guy.      Economists have been employing various tools and methodology to determine ho...

Modern Parenting and Wall Street

The Wall Street is synonymous with the cut throat backstabbing self serving lifestyle which the cynical amongst us use to keep our tiny tots in check.      Modern Parenting by a vast majority resembles the vast majority of investors in the stock market. They invest capital into the market and then pray that it gives good dividends. Similar to diversification of portfolios, the child is made to learn a multitude of skills/arts in a bid to minimize the risks of a volatile environment.      Lacking a sound financial knowledge (interpersonal skills) the investor (parent) is subject to what can't be better described than market risk.

Doomsday Specialist wants world to be communal

Maverick fortune-teller and chronic alcoholic Baba Farzi topi has sent virtual tremors along the political world by claiming that religious communalism is actually good for the world and political parties endorsing such views are actually ahead of its time. He had just had his fifth of vodka when he got a vision of the future where the civilisational breakdown had a temporary sobering effect on him. Once back in this realm, Baba Farzi hurriedly started his world famous permutating combinations and reached the conclusion that the absence of religious fundamentalism in 2050 AD was its root cause. "Hardcore football fans, especially the Manchester United affiliated Red Army is the single largest terror organisation in the future." said the baba. He further explains that given our inherent urge to be social, Man organises himself into various groups which later evolve into "cradles of fundamentalism" causing us to hate other groups. In the absence of religious bigotry...

Net Neutrality brings Religious Fundamentalists together

The greedy suits of big companies have done what the so called prophets and even Gods couldn't achieve. The various religious denominations of the world have unanimously though unfortunately separately have come out in support of net neutrality.      Using their time tested formula of citing religious texts, the intelligentsia of many well known religions have declared that net neutrality is and always had been a basic tenet of their respective religions.      The Priests' Association for Democratic Resolution (PADRE) mentioned verses from the controversial Dead Sea scrolls as evidence that Jesus supported net neutrality and denounced any individual or a group that attempted to alter it.      Around the same time, the Dharm and Karma Siddhi Niyantran Ayojak (DAKSHINA), a fundamentalist offshoot of Hinduism quoted a verse from their religious text, The Bhagwad Geeta "Strange are the ways of Karma." to...
